Help the weak. (Romans 15:1)

I don't think we always realize that we have a responsibility. Not just to ourselves but others also.

Romans 15:1

English Standard Version (ESV)

1   We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

This isn't an every man for himself kind of life. If it was, Jesus would've basically shrugged us off and said "It's a dog eat dog world out there. Sucks for them."

But no. He loved us, to the point of dying for of what we did. And that's how we should love others. 1 John 4:19 says "We love because he first loved us." How can we do that by only caring for ourselves? We need to help our struggling brothers and sisters. We're all weak at times, and we all need someone to lean on.
So why not be that person for them?

Take their burden on your shoulders, help them up, dust them off, and get them ready for the road ahead. That's one of our jobs as Christians. To help heal the wounded and to help strengthen the weak.

So I wanna challenge you guys to look out for someone that's hurting, mentally, spiritually, or physically, and help them through it.
Don't be pushy and try to force your way in, some people don't want help and that's perfectly fine. But always be on the lookout for someone who does.

Have a great day and God bless! :D

Lead a ministry of love.(John 15: 9-17. 1 Corinthians 13)

Happy Sunday! xP

today is a part of John 15.  NLT translation

9 “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. 10 When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! 12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. 16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

LOVE. its what our whole faith is based on. "So God loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.." Do we deserve this love? No. Can we do anything to ever be able to earn this love? No. But God loved us anyway, and so does Jesus, he even calls us his friends. And if they can love us despite everything, we should love other people to, just the same as Jesus loves us.

We have NO RIGHT to say bad things about other people, to be mean, to be hurtful, or to be rude. We have no right to gossip, to get back at people, or do/say things to intentionally hurt anyone, regardless of what they have done to you.   Matthew 5:39 says: "But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also."

You can't be a true Christian without love. 1 John 4:8 says: Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

If you're having trouble loving others, maybe its because God is a stranger to you.
If that's the case, you need to open your bible read. Read the Old Testament to meet your Father (Genesis and Exodus are good for that) and read the New Testament to meet your Savior. (The Gospels, and first few chapters of revelation)

I'm going to close with 1 Corinthians 13. It really shows you the power of love, and how without it, everything is worthless.

1 Corinthians 13

New Living Translation (NLT)

Love Is the Greatest

1 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 3 If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;[a] but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages[b] and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! 9 Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! 10 But when full understanding comes, these partial things will become useless.
11 When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. 12 Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.[c] All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.
13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

Remember guys, its by LOVE that we were saved, its by LOVE we will vanquish our enemies, and it's by LOVE that we, through the Holy Spirit, will save others.
God bless and have a great day!!

Jeremy Lin

The be honest, I didn't know he existed until the whole Linsanity thing broke out. But I really like the guy and what he stands for, and his amazing story. He's a devout Christian and God has really blessed him. Which is why this post is dedicated to him. :P

If you don't know who he is, Jeremy is a basketball player in the NBA. He came into the league in 2010, and was undrafted. (basically meaning that when he came into the NBA, no team wanted him) He just kinda floated around teams unnoticed, and never got a real chance to play, even though he was really talented.
He was even sent to the D-League (The NBA development league) a couple times. Jeremy wasn't making enough money to buy his own place, he had to stay with his brother. Nevertheless, God had a plan for him.

Despite being tossed all around, being ignored, and not being taken seriously, he continued to work hard, to accept whatever tasks given to him, and remained faithful to God.
And everything he went through continued to make him a better and better player, wowing coaches and other teammates.

Then finally, God said "it is time."

In late December, Jeremy acquired by New York Knicks, where he wasn't really considered a part of the team.
Then, Carmelo Anthony suggested that Lin get some more playing time, and that's when things took off.
In barely more than a week, he turned the struggling Knicks into one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference of the NBA.
They're now on a 7 game winning streak because of Lin. He even scored 38 points along with 7 assists against the Lakers on Friday, outscoring Kobe Bryant.

Can you see how God rewarded this guy? He wasn't even considered to be a part of the team. No one really expected anything of him. He was even mocked because for being an Asian basketball player.

But because of his faith, obedience, and his trust in God, he is now a household name. Everyone knows who he is. The talent that was never known weeks ago is now played over and over again on ESPN. Games are being sold out just to see him play.
Jeremy has even been featured on shows like Good Morning America and NBC News; shows that usually don't cover sports.
He has completely shattered stereotypes and opened the eyes of millions nationwide.
It's truly amazing what God can do with a person that continues to have faith. :)

So I hope his story really touches you and allows you to see that God is still very active even today. Even though Jeremy's story is still only beginning, it shows that God still chooses the most unlikely of people to send his messages.

He can do the same with you too. All you need is faith.

Have a great day and God bless! :D

So if you have a chance, read it! It could help you with some questions you have, and even strengthen your faith!

Check it out right here!! If that doesn't work, copy and paste http://lcwym.blogspot.com/ into your browser!

Don't be afraid! (Jeremiah 1:17-19)

Jeremiah 1:17-19

New International Version (NIV)
17 “Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them. 18 Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land. 19 They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD.

I love these verses. I hear a lot about Jeremiah 29:11, which an awesome verse, but I like the first chapter of Jeremiah best. It's seriously encouraging and just amazing for me. I struggle a lot with my confidence and my abilities. But these verses, and all of chapter 1 basically tell me that it's not about what I can do, rather what the God that's working through me can do.

When you think of the things you can do with God behind you, a whole new world of possibilities opens up. Nothing is impossible with God. And if he's working behind you, nothing, no one, no body, no being, no anything, can stop you.
So don't be afraid! You have no reason to! Like the picture says: "Don't be afraid of anyone. Instead, make THEM afraid of your God.

Have a great day and God bless! :D

Fight evil with good. (Romans 12:21)

We as Christians need to get back on track. We need to fight evil with good, not evil with evil.
How can we go around saying we follow Christ, when we do wrong to those who've wronged us?
Is that what Jesus said?

Matthew 5:38-40

New International Version (NIV)

38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.

If we strike back if someone strikes us, it makes us wrong also, and we will have to meet the consequences for that. But if we do as Jesus said, and as Paul wrote, to overcome evil with good and kindness, people will take note of that. They will wonder why we don't get back at people, why we are so kind, and why we stand out and act differently. They'll wonder why we do good when everyone else does bad. And that curiosity could even lead to that person becoming saved.

So yeah, take that extra step to make sure that you are fighting evil with good. You never know who it can effect. :)

Have a great day and God bless!

God is a God of action.

Our God doesn't sit around all day watching stuff happen on Earth. Our God moving, transforming, and shaping things actively around us!

God the Father is the Master Builder. (Hebrews 3:4) He is the one has plans for each of our lives, setting up opportunities for us to witness and share our faith, and stand up for what's right.(Jeremiah 29:11) He even has angels watching over us.(Luke 4:10, Hebrews 1:14)

God the Son (Hebrews 1: 2-4) is our lifeline directly to the Father.(John 14:6) He is who we ask for forgiveness, (Matt. 26:28) for guidance, for rest, and for strength. (Matt 11:28-30) He is our protector, (Luke 10:19) commander of spirits, (Luke 4:36) and has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. (Matt 28:18) And he loves you!! (John 13:34, John 15:9)

God the Holy Spirit teaches and reveals to us and reminds us of God's word. (John 14:26) He corrects those who do wrong, and judges everyone. He guides us in the Spirit of truth. He speaks not on his own, but only what he hears, and he will warn us of what is to come. He does everything to the Father's glory, just like the Son. (John 16:7-15)

So yeah, as you can see, our God lives a very active lifestyle, not on sitting on the throne all day watching discovery channel. xP Just wanted to share that with you guys. Have  great day and God bless!!
